They're still doing this - they've been calling me daily for a few weeks, I'm on the do not call list, like they care. SEO Services of Orange County is what they told me. (Latest call 3:44pm Pacific/Cascadian Standard Time, Thursday, 5 November.)
Another "Google Local" scam... their do not call request when you call the number back does not work. Answer the call and then hold to reach a live person. Threaten to contact the FTC if they do not discontinue calling your number.
Same here - when I asked to speak to a supervisor, was chastised by their "customer service rep" and then I said I would 'verify' my page and wanted to speak to another rep because I didn't like talking to him, he replied the same and hung up on me. We will be blocking this number.
No it is not Google directly. Yes Google knows its happening. And yes they benefit from it along the way. Google is a nasty ad model that wormed its way into our lives and grows unabated. The future is bad for the internet if Google is around.
