They're still doing this - they've been calling me daily for a few weeks, I'm on the do not call list, like they care. SEO Services of Orange County is what they told me. (Latest call 3:44pm Pacific/Cascadian Standard Time, Thursday, 5 November.)
The guy insisted that he worked for Google, in mountain view. When pressed didn't give up. He was lying, google doesn't do cold calls. He also couldn't tell me what business he was trying to contact, he just had my name and number... I'm not a business. My number is not registered as a business.
They kept calling my phone about being a the business owner of a Google+ account which is vague. If you follow the prompt they will connect you with someone. Eventually I was connected and a man asked me if I was the business owner? I replied, The business owner of what? I was immediately hung up on. I called the number back and they gave me a few options to push:
1- talk to a person
2- add my number to the do not call list
I didn't push either and it immediately said my number was added to the do not call list, good bye.
Fake Google+ call. I have reported this SEVERAL times to National No Call Registry (obviously not helpful). This call starts by saying the business listing on Google+ hasn't been claimed. Push 1 to connect a person, 2 to be removed. I have pushed 2 SO MANY TIMES but still get calls. They called me yesterday and today. I pushed 1 this time and got "Daniel" on the line. As soon as I started asking to be removed, he terminated the call.
This has been going on for MONTHS. Initially, the numbers varied slightly but with a local area code, making them harder to block or ignore.
Dorks called back again,
April 28 at 1:10pm
May 14 at 2:23pm
May 14 at 3:22pm.
Did not answer any of them, yeah, google, right.
Bet they have some money to give away from my Nigerian bank account.
This is all we are. Spam calls, spam blockers, spam dead in the ground. The world sold itself out to Google and now we all suffer for it. Google should have to kick in on the fight to stop this since they set the programs these spammers feast off of.
