yep, got exact same call..I asked the woman 3x for her name and all 3x it was this is the Chamber of Commerce..She wante dme toverify address of business, I told her I had this same conversation with someone else and they should have it on file. (No, I didn't have conversation previously, that was a lie..LOL) She, then said she'd make a note of it and that was it.
Received a call asking to verify company information and owner. I asked who they were, caller stated American Chamber of Commerce (not true) and proceeded to ask me if we were located at an old mailing address. I asked her who I was speaking with and asked where she was located and what her business does while I Googled them (real American Chamber of Commerce is located in VA NOT NE) she started to get rude and impatient. I told her what I found on this site, asked to speak with a supervisor because we are on the Do Not Call list and she hung up. Immediately called back on our 2nd number and realized it was me and hung up half way through her sentancel.
Us too. Got a call from a man. Who verified the company name, address, and named a person that used to be here (but was never an owner) I said, yes, yes, no. He wanted the name of the current owner. I said, "for what purpose?" He said this is the Chamber of Commerce. My other line rang, I told him to hold on, I came back in 4 seconds, when I picked him back up, he was hanging up. Obviously, not the Chamber. Clearly falsifying who they are.
I am in the service industry, and most of the people who call me are cranky customers who need a repair. So, then these idiots waste my time it makes me cranky. She starts out quizzing ME on MY phone without any introduction. (When I call out I always say this is Rick from ABC Repairs.) Claimed to be from the American Chamber of Commerce (like I care?) Updating her records. VERY unprofessional. had to beg to get her to tell who she was. Then told her I had never heard of them, was not a Chamber member and had no intention of ever becoming one. She finally hung up.
Called today, I answered the phone and stated our company name....there was a few second wait time and a lady came on and asked if this was _____ I told her that was what I said when I answered....silence for a second she then asked if our address was ______ I told her wait a minute "where are you calling from, she said she was updating out Chamber listing, I told her we weren't a member of the chamber, she hung up" Annoying phone calls.
