I called my mother and her caller ID identified my number as this number (which it is not). I called Centurytel, our phone service provider, and they are looking into it. Ugh.

A lot of numbers are available from many sources on the internet. Also, some of these scammers have their computerized systems just call entire blocks of numbers and then note which numbers are active. Maybe NOBODY gave out any of your phone numbers.
When I call my Mom in IL she says her caller id shows this number. This number is based in Atlanta, GA but I live in Colorado with a 303 area code. Almost every time I call she says this number comes up. When you call it back, you get a "number is not in service at this time"
