just answered a call from this # as i was reading what others had posted. they asked to talk to parents of my high school age daughter said she had attended a college prep class or gone on a scholarship website and i told him she had not done such a thing. he asked me if i wanted to be placed on a do not call list and seemed very nice about it but we will see..... they have been calling for the past week a couple times a day so we will see if the calls stop.
11-25-18 lady called new my sons name trying to sell me a program, but first wanted to verify my address! She had that! I told her that we are not interested in the program! $169.00 spam and would never give her credit card information!!!!
This supposedly company called word smart learning company, had my sons information. I called them back and wanted to know how they received that information. They said from a scholarship website! Not true. Here is there website info. The guy said they are from San Diego with a Georgia phone number? http://www.wordsmart.com/about-us
Saidnthe manager michael mason would call me back since they already had my number on their screen!
They called me, then we call got disconnected. I called back b/c I thought it was an important call. First a prerecording came on sounding like a legitimate radio station. They claimed I was the 5th caller & won a Bahamas vacation. The rep finally came on requesting my name & phone number, but I grew curious & questioned her about how they obtained my phone number because I don't listen to the radio, so I couldn't have won anything from them. Ask I pressed her for more information about the radio station she pretended to suddenly unable to hear me especially when I told her they called me & she flat out lied about them not being able to call "listeners". That's another lie because radio stations do call winners. Anyway, it's a scam in my opinion & I refused to give them any of my information.
