I received a call from this number stating they were an affiliate of Google and that if I wanted my business to be associated with their search engine directory to "press 1 now". Naturally I was smart enough to know better than to press any buttons not knowing where this phone number was coming from. Just answering the phone confirmed my existence so we'll see what happens now.
Yes, all these calls are connected. I have been doing internet searches on all these #s and they are connected. They are scammers, using cell#'s and they are hard to trace per FTC/FCC but recommend you contact both of them with your info as they state they can't investigatge just one consumer complaint but if everyone getting these calls complains, it should help. Also contact your states atty genenerals office. Keep a log, dates, times, etc.
See my answer to Adrian's question also.A lot of them are from MT/ND/SD(Red Lodge is a common place) and the carrier on a lot of them are Verizon and their subsidiaries like Cellco, etc.
If you go toswitchboard.com or another one whitepages.com, they have lots of info about these #'s including their carriers. There is another carrier something like Western Corp or similar. Hope this helps. When they call and there is an option to press a button to "opt out" of their calls, don't press it.It makes matters worse.
They don't leave a msg cause they are robo calls--recorded ones. By not answering the phone and if you have the option of hitting star 69 like I do, it will tell you the # last called and the time. From there, and info on those #'s like carrier/cell or land line/from where can be found on the internet. Switchboard.com is a good source and there are others.I was able, thru my phone carrier, to put a block on the #'s I don't want getting thru. Comcast has the option of being able to do it so here's to not getting any more and as they come in from other #'s, I will be blocking them also.
The calls are generated from long lists and will continue. They are robo calls and are not covered by the do not call registry so call your carrier and talk to them about options like blocking, etc. Also keep a log and complaint to the FCC/FTC.They need more to go on before they will investigate one consumer complaint like mine.
The do not call registry does not cover these robo calls, unfortunately, I have been dealing with it since last Sept, keeping a log, calling the FTC/FCC. Do not press buttons to opt out., That will increase the problem. One can get info on these #''s like where they originate./their carrier/cell or land line. Call your tele carrier and talk to them about blocking, etc. Also contact your state's atty generals office and complain with the info you have compiled., Between all of us, hopefully something will be done
Don't press any buttons. The worst thing you can do per the FTC/FCC.Keep a log, report it to FTC/FCC and your state's atrty generals office.Never give out any info as they are scammer/robo calls. If possible, do not answer phone. I have the option of pressing star 69 and getting the time called and the #.Your friends will leave a msg, these people will not. Call your phone carrier and talk to them about it and how to block the calls.I have Comcast and now have the power at my fingertips to block these #'s from home. Do Not Call Registry doesn't cover scammer/robo calls.Internet will give you info on these #'s like from/landline or cell(most are unpub cell) and sometimes carrier. One of the carriers(406 425 3353) is Cellco dba Verizon Wireless.Seems like maybe they could be held liable if complaints continue. Something to check out.
For awhile, they would come from diff area codes/#'s but same city/state, etc. The last week they are all from 406 426 3353-the carrier is Cellco dba Verizon and I have now blocked it thru my carrier from home. And they have been coming ea day too. I don't answer but hit star 69 and get the # and time.
