Got call from this number just now, accent, noted they were from Microsoft and my computer had malicious code and was notifying them. I said "No." He kept talking. I said "No." again. He said sorry Bryan, Im not getting you. I said "You dont know what no means? Bye" Click. A$$ hats.
Received a call from #406 893-2133 , foreign man stating he represents Microsoft, said my PC was sending messages to them indicating viruses were running amuck on my unit , I told him to remove my # from call list, that if needed I'd contact Microsoft myself ,,,no scams on my watch !
Someone with an exztremely thick accent calls me telling me my computer has a virus and he can help me to remove it. First of all, it is NOT a Microsoft number in the caller ID, this is the number: 406-893-2166. I told him that I am an IT person and to describe exactly what the issue was...he promptly hung-up. Report this to: https://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/fraud/internet_fraud. Whatever you do, do NOT give up any information. These people are stupid using a phone number that appears in the caller ID.
Yeah, I got the same call guy as the group today. He claimed that my system had sent an error message out, and he was from Microsoft. I continued to press him about how he knew I had this infection and why didn’t my top shelf anti-virus take care of the problem. Further, I asked him numerous times why should I believe he was who he said he was and finally he hung up. After I looked at my phone record I tried calling the number, got a long tone. Came here and surprise, surprise it was a scam! Thanks to all that posted to this group.
I got a phone call when I was leaving my home to go jog last night. An Indian man said that he was from Microsoft and that my computer kept reporting issues that I do not recall. I told him to call me back at 5:30 on today. Well, I am officially off duty, so I decide to do an internet search on the phone number. SO GLAD I DID!!!!! Thank all of you for sharing your experiences because there was something that did not feel right about that call.
