Marvin, while filing with the State of Montana may actually get something accomplished, filing with donotcall.gov does absolutely nothing. I have filed complaints for countless numbers that have called me illegally with donotcall.gov as well as ftc.gov and STILL get calls from these people almost DAILY! I have been on the "DO NOT CALL" list since 2005! I finally gave up around June of last year filing complaints because, after at least 100 (and no, I'm not exaggerating, I had the FTC mailings until recently when they became kindling for my fireplace), I realized it was just an exercise in futility. These people will simply get a different number (or spoof the caller ID) and start calling from that. One such company is TFZ, LLC, who I know has called me from AT LEAST 6 different numbers, most in different area codes (213, 2 in 978, 916, 603, even 999)!
I got a call from them yesterday and answered, so I could remind them I'm on the DO NOT CALL list. I heard a recorded message about increasing my credit limit by pressing one or being removed from their call list by pressing two.
So, I pressed two and a live person answered. I said, "Please remove me...." CLICK. The person hung up.
Wow! I like the suggestion to forward these calls to another telemarketer. I'm going to do it right now.
For another pest, FMR Associates, I sent a remove me email. (From a junk account I use. Not letting my real email address get on their lists.) If I get future calls, I'll call the president every time. (The phone numbers and extensions are on the website.)
It's a scam allright! These are robotic ato dial calls...and if you are stupid enough to ever call them back to complain..they'll keep calling you forever. The best is to call forward to your local sheriff's office...........
