Copied this from an earlier post because it is exactly what was said to me, it was a recorded message.
THE MESSAGE LEFT ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE "WAS CALLING IN REFERANCE TO MY
CURRENT CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT. THERE IS NO PROBLEM CURRENTLY WITH YOUR
ACCOUNT. IT IS URGENT HOWEVER THAT YOU CONTACT US CONCERNING YOUR ELIGIBILITY
TO LOWER YOUR CURRENT INTEREST RATE TO 6.9%. PRESS 1 TO TALK TO SOMEONE OR 2
CONSIDER THIS YOUR FINAL NOTICE.
I pressed 2 (which mine actually said would remove me from further notices) and it took me to a live operator who was pushy and rather rude. He was persistent that they could lower our interest rates and save us a lot of money. I repeatedly told him that it was illegal for them to call us as we are on the do not call list and that didn't seem to phase him. I asked more then once to be removed from their call list and he asked for my name both times which I said he didn't need (as I wasn't going to tell him). I ended up hanging up on him after getting no where. This is a TOTAL SCAM company.
Caller ID read Credit Services. I do not answer this calls on use this line as a computer land line but still I get way too many calls from these people.
Today at 11:11am I also recieved a call from this number which showed up as Credit Services. I got the same crap that Kenwiz posted. We'll reduce your interest to 6%. I asked if they were from the bank and they said no they represented all the banks: Bank of America, Capital City, Capitol One etc... The gentlemen had a very heavy accent and wanted various numbers to "verify" who *I* was. He didn't get them.
Call your bank immediately after getting one of this calls, their fraud department needs to know. BTW, my call came from Big Timber, Montana and it's a cell phone.
