Keep getting these calls to lower interest rates on credit cards. Do not use credit cards, have no balances on credit cards and would appreciate if these calls would stop, they are extremely annoying, Most of the time they are just recordings or hang ups.
Call came from Florida to Kansas @ 11:29 hours on 4-30-09. Call not answered and no message left. Other sites advise this is the typical "make your credit card rates lower".
Total scam. Got the message regarding lower interest rates and pressed 9. Asked them to verify who they were and they noted "Card Services." They said they were affiliated with Chase and wanted to lower my rate to 6%. Started asking me a slew of questions regarding my overall debt and then asked me to "verify one of my card numbers."
Yeah, right. When I laughed and told him that you'd have to be vapid to do that over the phone without being able to confirm any of my account information he got rather miffed. I mean, c'mon it's asinine to give out that sort of information and he responded (and this is the kicker), "No it's asinine to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result." Oh, my! As if that's going to sway me, jerk. Then he has the balls to say, "Skepticism is a form of intelligence." Man, what a script they must have loads of these little gems at their fingertips. These people are absolute parasites. BEWARE OF 407-000-1919. You just know these crooks are going to prey on the desperate and elderly. Ugh, what is this world coming to?
caller id showed "Florida" and the number 407-000-1919 caller said that call was about my credit card interest (since i dont' carry a balance i thought it was a sales call so i pushed 9 as they requested and she said it was about my master or visa card. informed her i had none of those and i was on the do not call list and she said "then dont push 9 the next time"
