I do yell in the phone to stop calling, but doesn't do any good. This is just
plain old harrasment. How can it be stopped. Yes, and I am on the no call list.
Just got a call from Portfolio Recovery Associates from this number. They are trying to collect on a debt from 12 years ago that the original creditor wrote off a long time ago. I told the guy on the phone that he is wasting his time. They will never get a dime out of me!
Actually, if you answer, tell them you are recording the call, ask for the name of their company then state that you are telling them expressly to never contact you again regarding that alleged debt. If they call from ANY of their numbers again, you keep that log on your phone, tell them you are hiring an attorney and you can sue them for violating the FDCPA.
