Are you sure you don't mean lawbreaking Portfolio Recovery Associates? The name sans "recovery" appears to be for an innocent looking PR firm in Philly.
Portfolio Recovery. I have about 10 numbers saved in my phone from them....Here is another one to add to the list. I actually answered one a couple weeks ago. I asked them what it was about. The lady said a sears credit card that I had when I was 17 and charged off when I was 19. I am 31 now and it's not even on my credit report as a debt. I laughed at them and hung up.
left no message. I have been getting tons of various calls from multi-tude of phone pre-fixes over the last few months now. I have also had a 1999 repo just pop-back up on my credit report, and the repo has not been on my report for years, and just appeared out of no-where, now all the phone calls start rolling...It appears these bad apple credit agencies are digging up, turning over old debt regardless of SOL in hopes to collect something, they bring stuff back to the surface that has been
off my report for years. I would bet they are doing the same to others also.
They have no morals, they are trying to collect no matter how old the debt is,
no matter the SOL, no matter if it has been off your report for years....
And never-ever use your cell phone to call some unknown number back....
they have caller-id, cell tracking, etc...if you should call these unknown
numbers back, then expect them to start hounding your cell number. My cell was
safe for years until I called a number back, after that, the calls are daily now, and
sometimes they have even called at late at 8:30pm.
If credit is that important to you, then always use a disposable/ghost cell...
