This is a Do Not Call phone #, yet telemarketers continue to call! This time it was a robo-call, saying that it was Rachel with Credit Card Services. I hung up! Then I called the number on my caller ID and the number was not an active phone # with Verizon... So guess that the robo-call 'spoofed' the caller ID.
Received robo call from Card Services to lower interest rate. Message said to press 3 to remove name from list, press 1 to speak to an operator. I pressed one and asked the operator which credit card they were calling from. He told me they service all visa, mastercard, and discover accounts. So I asked again which card they were calling me about. He said that when I pay my bills on time my information is entered in their database and they can offer me a lower interest rate on my credit card. I asked again which specific account he wanted to talk to me about. He said all of them. Then I asked for my name and phone number to be removed from their list since I was already on the Do Not Call list. He said that wouldn't be a problem.
I wrote the date, time, etc so if they call again I can report them to the Attorney General office.
I had a long talk with the FCC about the fact I am on the do not call registry, and the unbelievable amount of calls (8 to 10 per day) I am getting now from numbers such as this. They said to report calls from companies that are real telemarketers with a real phone number and company listing and they will investigate. However, calls like this need to be reported to the FTC since scams are not something the FCC looks into. Well, that's great, but I am tired of the pass the buck attitude.
