What gets me is I have the "No Solicitation" service on my phone. In order for it to ring on my end, everybody (no matter who it is) has to press 1. It's a hassle for our friends and family, but it's there specifically to stop these kinds of calls (since the Do Not Call list doesn't seem to help). So, how do they still get through? Is there somebody on their end pressing 1? Or do they have their robots set up to pause, then send the tone for 1?
At first it was an automated call pretending to be "card holder services" and asking me if I wanted to lower my rates (besides the obvious fakery, I have a Centurion card, so they know my name when they call). It gave a number to "opt out" but it didn't work the previous times over the last several months so I wanted to talk to a human being to tell them to please stop. When a person did answer, this is the transcript:
[He gave a spiel about me wanting lower interest rates]
"Hi, actually I just want to know what company this is."
"Excuse me?"
"I just want to know the company you work for, can you supply it?"
He then hung up. Report them to the FTC or at

This number calls my house a few times a few times a week. I don't always answer since I don't know who it is. When I do answer its a recording about lowering our credit card interest so I just hang up. Last night they called me at 9:20p.m. so I waited till someone came on the phone. She said to me "Are you interested in lowering your credit card interest?" without giving her any info I said "No, I don't want you calling my home at 9:20 at night, my kids are in bed" she hung up on me. I tried to call the number back and got a recording that its a cell number that is no longer in service. So this place is blocking numbers from calling in.
Is there anyway to stop this? any place to report this to that something will get done?
