I have received half a dozen calls from "Beth" at this number looking for a real estate agent that sells homes in [my] area. I was immediately suspicious due to the area code being far from here, but by the third voicemail I realized that she is using the exact same script on each call - definitely sketchy. I finally set my phone to reject her future calls. It must really stick to have her job...
Received a voice mail at my fire station in south Florida from John Anderson from Fire House stating they are giving away free Fire Safety Material to 10 new fire departments. 407-990-1600.
"Val Dodge" left a voice-mail indicating/suggesting she wanted to hire me for a project. Upon returning the call it became clear that her business is deception.
"Val" vaguely indicated that she was calling on behalf of the local Fire Department, her wording appeared to be intentionally deceptive, fraudulent, and illegal.
They appear to be pulling this scam all over the country, check out this news video clip from Joplin Missouri:

Caller called us, a supply house, looking for references of good contractors in the area. When questioned, he could not provide a good reason(specific job) for this. He the stated he worked with the local fire dept. and I knew he was phishing for a scam. (our local fire dept. doesn't outsource)
I received a call from this number. I answered and listened because it is a nearby area code. Said they are working with my local fire dept. Also, looking for a someone in the area I am in to sell ad space to for a big magnet that "saves lives". They wanted over $700.. I replied nope and hung up! I could see how this could be a scam with a high asking price for advertising no one has heard of.
