I have received half a dozen calls from "Beth" at this number looking for a real estate agent that sells homes in [my] area. I was immediately suspicious due to the area code being far from here, but by the third voicemail I realized that she is using the exact same script on each call - definitely sketchy. I finally set my phone to reject her future calls. It must really stick to have her job...
I was just called by this phone number: 407-990-1600; this call came in as an Orlando Florida phone number. A lady by the name of Julia said that she was a part of a community project and she also asked if I would like to take on more customers in the local community area. She would not give me anymore information than that.
I got a call from a lady who says she was producing magnets to be handed out by the MONTGOMERY COUNTY FIRE DEPT in Maryland. I was surprised also that she was calling me from FL.
At first I thought it was legit... but then I started wondering... why did they pick MY business to handle ALL OF montgomery county?? It sounded too good to be true..
She was calling from FIRESAFETYMAGNETS and directed me to their website. She offered to get my biz ad on the magnet(which would supposedly be distributed to up to 25,000 people) for a cost of $700/18 months. Too good to be true??
Once I realized I was getting played and asked her for the PREVIOUS CAMPAIGN they did for our county, she put me on hold and I was directed to a man who clearly had more experience than she did, claiming she was NEW and didnt have that info.
He tried to change the subject several times and I pressured for the previous campaign magnet. He said by the time he could find it and get it sent over to me, the biz ad slot would be taken. (he wanted to send it by mail?!?). I asked for an email copy. Nothing. Still waiting for his contact info.
Thank god I found all these messages...
Left a message that he had a project in the area and needed a good electrician. So he is selling space on fridge magnets?? I'm just wondering how many deals they close by introducing their services with a lie?
Well they have moved on to San Antonio, TX.
Got a call from someone working on "behalf" of the San Antonio Fire Department. Wanted to sell us ad space at the same price/duration as the posts above. Got all the way to the paying part and I got a little worried so I started calling the fire department to see if this was legit. ITS NOT!!! They don't work with this company. When I went back to call FIRE SAFETY MAGNETS and ask them for all contact info for someone with the fire department they said they would email it to me and I'm STILL waiting for it. Good thing I didn't pay!!!!
