bogus call from someone pretending to be from social security looking for bank account number. with all the reports why aren't these scammers shutdown??
I received a call from a man with a heavy accent stating that he was mailing me a new medicare
card. He knew my address and asked for my bank account to confirm.
This (spoofed) number called at 7:07am, 7:13, 7:19, 7:25, and 7:31am today. I finally answered the line and, like above, a heavy accented male responded. I told him he was required to provide a company name and valid phone number and he Immediately disconnected.
Since then the calls have stopped and I have again blocked the number. I need to block it with my telephone provider so it does not ring on my home phone.
Middle eastern accent - hard to understand. Said was sending new Medicare Card. Wanted banking info. Told I wouldn't give it to them. Hung up. My caller ID said the call was from Texas. Obviously a call center - lots of voiced in background
