I received this call and returned the call knowing it was a scam because I received another one like it a month ago. What I don't understand is the point of the call. He wanted me to "help" him with my address so he could send me legal documentation but I told him he should already have it. Then he asked if I had a criminal attorney and I said no. Then he told me to get one and hung up. Maybe they are just fishing for addresses. Bizarre!
I just got the same message. I may have called back if it wasn't such a phony message. "Officer Julie Smith". Officer, really?? I never heard of anyone from the IRS referring to themselves as "officer" anything!
I received a threatening call supposedly from the IRS this morning around 9:00. I received a similar call quite a while ago and understand that it is a scam. I have not returned either of the calls.
