I got a call from the same number today and thy were telling me exactly the same thing. the guy that have an Indian accent was telling me that I will go to the present and I will have my driver's license suspended if I do not has the issue solved with him. I said let me get to the office of the IRS by myself and see what is going on.
We received 2 calls today with the same message. Same person officer Julie Smith. Time sensitive from the IRS. We did not return since we have heard on the news the IRS would never do this.
I call them back 20 times with a *67 just to mess with them. One guy told me I was wasting his time.. I told him uhhh your running a SCAM and worried about wasting your time sounds like I am WINNING and your a loser. I then turned them in to FTC fraud line and state ATTNY gen fraudline and reported their improper use of Magicjack # to majicjack.com fraud report.
My Wife got this same call and immediately concluded it was a "Scam". First of all, we are in good standing with our Taxes, further, "why wouldn't IRS have sent us a letter instead, with an Official IRS seal"? I am a Police Officer and I would have loved to have taken this call! When I called back (to entertain myself), I got a message about "this phone number does not accept phone calls" … or something like that.
same as other calls - recorded message : "Julie Smith" of IRS urging a callback with threat of additional action if obligation not taken care of.
I returned the call. A guy with an accent answered "Internal Revenue Service". After calling him out on the scam and threatening to call the FBI, he hung up.
