Got the same call from This so called "tax litigation dept". Guy with an East Indian accent. It's a SCAM. The IRS will never call you. They will send you a letter if there is an issue. I was tempted to call back and harass them.
Just got a voice message from this number saying that my wife's (who does not work) tax returns have some discrepancies. The person seems to be an Indian guy with a fake american name. He also gave a reference number.
i got miss call, when i call back a lady named jenny smith employee i.d - 900132261. she is said that there will be a arrest warrant for my name tomorrow morning if i don't pay full or half of 6000 of my back taxes now.
Received a crank call from this number. Some Indian lady voice saying foreign name. Said there is an IRS complaint and you may be arrested. You will have to pay to IRS.
Thank you, everyone, for your detailed responses. It seems as if they are targeting seniors. I got a variation on this scam a month ago from a heavily-accented man claiming that he was from the Microsoft Windows team and there was a problem with my computer. He started screaming at me when I challenged him so I hung up. He called back 30 minutes later with the same pitch, but this time I told him I had an Apple computer - and he hung up on me!
