Called asking for IT Manager. Said he wasn't allowed to talk to Help Desk, Tech Support, etc. despite calling a help line for our company. Wanted to talk to my boss so I asked for some basic information from him and he hung up on me.
Three different people called from this number on the same day, saying they were calling regarding IBM. When I asked if this was a sales call, they said no. When I asked what the call was regarding, they said it was an IT update, but could not furnish any legit details...They rambled on about IT Solutions and updates, but nothing made sense.
This number has called 6 times with an hour; it was 3 different people (2 calls per person) each asking for my IT Manager. They are calling the main number of a Finance Department. I have explained that to each individual - one of these persons said, "oh!" and then hung up on me. I've been hung up on 2 out of the 6 calls. The last person "said" that they were removing my number (which I did not provide to them, he repeated to me) from their call list. He kept trying to talk over top of me and kept calling me "Eve" - where that name came from I have no idea. This is definitely a solicitation call and I simply told them I know who they are even though they use a fake number and I was reporting them to our police department.
I've had this call before. It's not as often as I get others. But she first asks for (by name) my accounting/default sales call person. When I said she wasn't in, she responded with "Oh, can I speak to your IT Department?" When I asked what it was about, she said Information System Updates. I played the hold game with her. She hung up after about 90 seconds on hold.
