I got this phone call today from the following number it's a female with a India accent my caller id says 415-484-8341 San Francisco/North Bay Area. Telling me to dial that number and a Kenneth Webster pick up with a non foreign accent telling me I owe in interest and penalties of $2800 while the female said $10000. Don't give out any of your information to these people
just got a call from 415-484-8341 claiming I was being investigated by the IRS, after a few questions it was easy to see that this is a scam. Aside from the poor English they spoke they stated they were calling from NY and then CA. if you get this call please report it to the the following Treasury Inspector General 1-800-366-4484.
Exactly! I told the numbskull on the phone that the IRS sends letters, to which he replied that they had sent "several of them" and I had not responded. Told me to call back and speak to their "attorney" and when I tried, the phone just beeped one time and nothing else.
I feel it is definitely a scam and when I told the jerk on the phone, that I could hardly understand, that I had not received ANY letters from them, he snickered to which I got upset with and asked him why. He stated that they did send the letters and I just choose not to respond to them.
Also, even if the IRS would call someone, it would be an 800 number, or some other similar number.
Called me as well....don't know what was more frustrating... the call or trying to report it.... went all the way through the menu... then got a voice mailbox
