Got the same call about an hour ago. It would have been 6:54 am California time. Julie Smith, sounded like a robocall. Let it go to voicemail. Very intimidating sounding, and threatening. How can they get away with this?!! Not calling back.
Don't worry... this is certainly a scam. "Take Care" at the end of the call is a sure sign. The IRS would not call, and they would never make a "robo" call. Received same call yesterday and today. IRS will contact you by mail, not via phone. Although maybe I'll back and see how long I can get them to "work" their scam, just for the fun of it. Much like the guy who calls from "technical support" at Microsoft and wants you to allow remote access to he can "fix" your computer... geez, how lame :)
So if it's a scam should I just disregard this message? I called back and got a live person saying that I owed money to IRS. He said payment options were closed and there will be a warrant out for my arrest, he said they were going to seize all my credit cards, debits cards. Should I report the call?
