They asked if I wanted to reduce my credit card interest rate and I asked them to put me on their Do Not Call List. They abruptly hung up.
I called back and chose option #2 to put me on their automated Do Not Call list.
The numbers DO come out of thin air.For a fee anyone can alter the number they are calling from which appears on caller id.It is called spoofing.None of the numbers the "card services" scammers use reflect the true location they are calling from.Google caller id spoofing to learn more ---it is quite interesting.
But you don't have to put up with it. Get a call blocker and start blocking or start white listing numbers. That's how you deal with unknown frauds. Report their numbers also. The lying freaks might think they are smart but they aren't as smart as they think.
This so called "credit card services" is a joke! I have spoke with several rude people and when I tell them to STOP calling me they hang up.It's a scam!
Good ideas except the "card services " scammers will make up spoofed number at will and you can't block the next one they come up with. Also I don't have a list of all the friends and legitimate numbers that call me.
