Receive many phone calls from 1-417-800-2511 asking for Japanese male 18 or above to participate in a studies. My number is unlisted and registered with the 'do-not-call' list. The rep on the phone was unable to clarify how they get my number.
I just received a call from this number on my phone/fax/ computer alternate line at 1:13 p.m., 9-19-13. The caller clamied to be from the Compton Research Group and to ofer a gift if I participated in the survey. I was given the option to press "two" to be removed form the list. I pressed "two," and then did a star-69 to obtain the caller's number. My private home alternate computer/fax/ phone line is also listed on the Do Not Call Registry. This call was a Do Not Call List violation. Besides, any phone data research may be used against the consumer. Only real cheapo scum do research this way these days. In additon, such truly bogus "research" has various methodological flaws inherent in it and may be used by a variety of s.o.b.s who used this data in various ways, most of which are ways which do not respect privacy and ultimately may work against the consumer or whomever cooperates with a telephone survey, regardless of who is conducting it. I hope that the Compton Research Gourp, or the absurd s.o.b. phone data miner/ or whomever is duly prosecuted by the Feds. I did not need this stupid intrruption by this jerk who programmed my number into his or her call list.
