answered this one today (it has called before). male knew my last name. when I asked who he was, he hung up. using caller id, I called number and a recorded message referred me to www.securestech.net (or at least this is what it sounded like). there is no where on thi swebsite to complain about calls. the site is connected to correctional facilities. baffling and annoying.

Two calls today from 423 328-1807. I answered the 2nd call. The guy called me by Mrs. (last name).... I did NOT acknowledge. He said he was calling for the National Police & Troopers Fund. (He said they helped the police and trooper's families killed in the line of duty, injured, etc.) He asked me to commit to any amount of money for a donation and they would mail out the return envelope, a tax receipt to be filled out on the honor system and a form with the amount I had agreed upon. While on the phone, I went online and looked up the fund raising group to no avail. I also asked him what percentage of the money actually went to the families???? He did not know and could not answer that question.
I told him I was not comfortable committing to any amount to a fund I could not find info about online.... period. Instead of saying, "Thank you, Have a great day, etc." He hung up.
They address you by name and then go into a prepared speech to get a donation for law enforcement they say. They hung up when I told them I was A Police officer and asked for their tax number.
