answered this one today (it has called before). male knew my last name. when I asked who he was, he hung up. using caller id, I called number and a recorded message referred me to www.securestech.net (or at least this is what it sounded like). there is no where on thi swebsite to complain about calls. the site is connected to correctional facilities. baffling and annoying.
I got a call from this number today and it just said Tennessee call on the caller ID. I have an unlisted number and I don't give it out and I"m on the Do Not Call Registry- both pointless. I get Countless calls from Scammers, Medical Services, etc... and I never answer and they rarely leave messages. Today I answered, only because I was expecting a call from my friend in Tennessee, and when I saw that I just picked up. The man asked if I were ..... (my Name) and I since I didn't recognize the voice, I simply asked, "who may I ask is calling and from what company?".... He gave his name (Dale Whitfield, probably fake) and that he was from the Police (something or other), asked again if I were that person, and I said "no" and could I take a message? He said he'd call back. I then called the number back, and got a recording saying it was a servicing agency for Correctional Facilities. If it is legitimate, they're probably soliciting money and it's disconcerting that they have my name and number, and if it's a scam, that's really annoying. Why do we bother with paying (increasingly higher fees) for unlisted numbers when these aggressive marketers and scamers get our numbers anyway?
get a lot of calls from this number and never answer them..... but they keep appearing on my "Missed Calls" list on my phone. Seems like I have answered a few but cannot remember.
Called Sunday afternoon. Caller ID said: Johnson City, TN. Don't know anyone in that city or area code. Let the call go to my answering machine and as soon as my welcome message ended the caller hung up. Blocked calling number! Just got another call from the same number Monday morning. Call block let it ring once and then automatically hung the caller up! Pain in the butt!!! Scammer needs to be put in jail, if not already there based on reading other comments that this number is a "Correctional Facility" number! The people running this service for the correctional facility should be put in behind bars themselves!!!
