Caller had my name,said he was from Windows and needed to speak with the owner of home computer,I asked what I could help him with, he asked again for owner of Computer, I hung up. he tried calling back, I didnt answer 2nd time.
My mom received two calls from this number yesterday and one today. The first call yesterday and the one today was a man with an Indian (?) accent. The second call she got yesterday at this number was a woman with a thick Indian? accent. Thankfully my mom didn't give out any personal information to them and actually told them they'd have to talk to me when I came over to her house this afternoon. They kept pushing her to give them my information on how to reach me and kept asking when I'd be home (at her house) and she kept repeating to them that I have my own home, and then hung up on them.
I have received several calls from this number, but because I was expecting a call, I answered right away. Looks as though the number is from Oregon, and my ID showed listed to Pauline Poghosy, but the man with an accent said he was calling from Windows. I could hardly understand him, sounded like he was calling from a tunnel, but he was quite insistent about "fixing" my computer. I told him it I had taken my tower to a local place two days ago, and they would handle any apparent problems. He then said "no one can fix it but us", to which I responded "I rather doubt that". Then he finally hung up! I have to find out again how to block this number through my service with AT&T. That's about all they will do with these nuisance calls! They are increasing at an extremely rapid rate much to my dismay! Great to have telephone ID!!!
I have received two calls from this number today with the name Pauline Poghosy. I didn't answer because I figure if it is someone who needs me they will leave a message. Now I see you had the same name, I know it's a scam. I'm on the do not call list and I get more sales/scam calls than ever before!
Keep getting calls from these idiots - claiming to be able to fix my computer problem..No ending - no matter what I tell them..
Number 1 - I don't have a computer problem - but I have told him - (some one with a bad accent),, I have no computer,
they say "no computer?" then hang up... But,, they keep calling - they have different numbers - block one - they just use
another number... Then I started telling them to hold on - as I was going to record their call - and forward it to the FBI so
they may can trace and put an end to their scam effort - they hang up... Doesn't stop them - still calling... They are a
stupid joke - but not one of those ha-ha ones... Wish someone would come up with a way to put an end to jerks as this..
The hanging up on them doesn't work either... They just live their lives to see what problems they may can cause - hoping
for someone - somewhere - to buy into what they are saying...
Received a call from 458-201-2021, caller ID showed Eugene, Oregon. Since I have a daughter that lives in that area, I answered the phone. A male voice (heavy east Indian accent) stated that they are receiving error messages from my Windows machine and only they can fix it because it is their operating system! First of all, I ONLY use Apple products; therefore, I knew it was a scam immediately; however, I asked him what is wrong? He told me to open my windows machine using the start button (I let him talk for awhile) after a few minutes acting like I'm following along (I'm retired, I have time) I finally told him I do not have a Windows machine and that I have a MAC. He said wait a minute (like he is going to talk to his boss), when he came back online he then said "open up Safari". I told him "I don't use Safari" (I actually use Google Chrome)...again, he stated "we are the only ones that can fix your problem because it is our operating system". I told him, since it is their operating system then he must work for Apple. He then hung up.
