Caller had my name,said he was from Windows and needed to speak with the owner of home computer,I asked what I could help him with, he asked again for owner of Computer, I hung up. he tried calling back, I didnt answer 2nd time.
"Windows" called me also to tell me that something toxic was being downloaded on my computer - and if I got on the computer with them they would help me clear it. I asked how they knew this - they said they were getting the info. I said I would call my computer person - and they hung up. I called that number back and a mumbler answered. The man I spoke with had an accent which sounded Phillipine. I called again and the call did not go through??????????
An Indian guy called my wife. He said he was from "Windows" and that her antivirus wasn't adequately protecting her laptop. Unfortunately, he was able to gain control of her laptop and she saw him moving the cursor. She finally wised up and told him to get off the computer. Eventually she turned off all computers in the house.
Our line is a VOIP line. I suspect when he called the phone, he was able to obtain our router's IP address and used that to gain entry to the laptop.
This number 458-201-2021 shows up in my call records as from Eugene Oregon.
Just got a call from this person with a heavy accent telling me they were getting some type of warnings or some thing from my Windows based computer. After grilling him for a few minutes I realized it was a scam and hung up. Someone needs to stop this guy!
