Male with heavy accent called me this morning saying he was from Microsoft and needed to help me with my computer because I have a virus so I told him I'm not interested and hung up. Couple of hours later he calls back and tells me its urgent that I get to my computer so he can assist me, I asked how he got my information and he wouldn't answer however he does have my number, first and last name so I asked him for the company's number that I will call them back to help me because I can't confirm who he was and I would not be giving him any information until I get the number to call the company myself and he kept saying its urgent and he needs to help me so I told him if its that urgent why is he wasting time and not giving me the number I needed to call and get the help supposedly I needed and he disconnected on and hasn't called since.... be aware people and don't give out your information...
Do you think anyone checks into these complaints? Is there a central location we can go to? I would think the various telephone companies would have records for who is paying for these numbers, even if they are pre-paid cell phones and by the time they get to them their long gone. If they follow the trail you never know, they may catch a few of these scam artists someday.
