When I get any calls I dont want, I just get them to pick up the call and say * This is the phoenix police Dept * or pick any police dept and say how may I help you. It tends to scare them off from calling again. Makes me feel better any ways LOL
I normally do not answer the phone unless I know who is calling. This time I did. A recording said this is the second and final notice regarding lowering your interest rate on your credit card and said it had something to do with the federal stimulus act. Some one picked up and said "this is about lowering your rate on your Visa or
Mastercard?" I said "Your 'Visa or Mastercard?'" She lung up.
I get this number twice a day normally ignore. recorded message, then given an option to press 1 for assistance. Woman on line says something about interest rates for credit card. I ask her what the name of the company is she claims either Guest Services or Quiet Services (she is hard to understand) she immediately hangs up on me. I call back and phone is "disconnected" probably spoofing the phone number. Google voice possibly or Asterisk Server.
2nd call I immediately tell her to add me to do not call list and she hangs up. Will research this further to figure out who this is and their real phone number.
Similar to Lee and Ron -- Female recorded voice (a little "officious") about second and final call about credit card rates. "Dial 1 for more info". I hung up. Call was listed on caller id as "Arkansas" and because I do know some people there, I picked up. Yes, I'm on the DNC list.
