I've received several calls from them the past week. I don't think that this is with Family Life because we've received calls from them before and their name is listed on the caller id (of course I could be wrong). I may answer it the next time to see who it is.
I went to Family Life Today's website and called the 800 number 1-800-358-6329 and asked to be taken off their calling list. It took about 30 seconds and they said they would stop the calls. Let's see if it works.
I just did the same thing as Kyle and the receptionist did the same thing for me. She said it would probably not go into effect until tomorrow.
She also explained that the TM is usually computer operated and will dial many numbers until someone answers, partly explaining why no one is at the end of the calls that hit our answering machines.
Yes, it is Family Life out of Little Rock, AR. Dennis Rainey is the Founder.
We have been receiving calls too. The calls originate from an outside tele-fundraising team that is hired because the ministry is holding a matching grant fund drive.
From their website (familylife.com):
"Grab a tool … Change a home … Change the world! That’s how you become a HOMEBUILDER. And FamilyLife is here to provide you with all the tools you need to strengthen and build your own marriage and family, and then reach out and help build another … and another … another.
And in December there’s even more exciting news …
Our $2 million (and growing!) HOMEBUILDERS Matching Challenge—which means any gift that you give to FamilyLife this month will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to the amount of the match.
And impressive as $2 million is, it is still growing! This matching gift has already become the single largest match in the 34-year history of FamilyLife. But we can’t reach this amazing goal without the help of friends like you..."
If you don't want to be bothered, simply phone them back and request that they REMOVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER from their files. You can contact them via email, too. This is also from their website:
"Please note that our response time varies based on the current volume of emails we receive and the complexity of your question, but you can typically expect to receive a response within four business days. If you need immediate assistance, please call.
