They are telemarketers calling for donations for the Arkansas State Police Association, hence ASPA. They get paid a percentage of what they collect. (Way too much in my opinion) They are required by law to register with the Arkansas Attorney Generals Office and they are required to follow specific rules, regulations and protocol and can lose their privilege to solicit if they violate the rules. There is a list of approved "meal time [***]" who are authorized to collect money for "not for profit" organizations such as ASPA and the list is available from the AG's office, and I believe I have gained access to it online before. Worth a check - and while you are at it - why not file a complaint with the AG's office. Hope this helps you folks.
ASPA stands for Arkansas State Police Association. They are wanting to get a donation from you for the teddy bear campaign and for injured or retired benefits for Arkansas State Police. They are very friendly and usually call back when you don't answer
A man called wanting to sell teddy bears for the arkansas state police. I told him I was on the do not call list and had received calls from ASPA in FL and he said he was not in FL and was selling these for the ASPA in Arkansas. I told him I didn't want to buy a teddy bear or anything and that I felt uncomfortable with his call. He continued to try and sell me a teddy bear even as I hung up the telephone.
This number has called before, but never had this web page to check who was calling. When I answered, the phone went to a dial tone and when I tried calling back a number of times,their line was busy. Thanks for this service to the public, making them aware who is calling them!
