I have called several times trying to feign enough interest to get one of these morons to spill the beans as to their address but haven't been successful yet. Received a call from these "geniuses" 10/5/2015 stating the usual " we received error messages" from your computer. I decided to somewhat play along as I relaxed and watched t.v. was told to open msconfig on my computer btw I don't own one, I use this at the library ha! kept the lady going for about 10 minutes pretending I was following her directions finally told her that all applications were running with no error messages and she said " oh your computer has no issues, this is good" then promptly hung up. maybe I saved 1 or 2 individuals from an annoying call. So If enough people get bored and play these fools hopefully they will give up and we can once again have a little peace from these scamming idiots.
I received another call from some who claims to be sam worthngton a techinal support person, i ask once before who he is and where he is calling from. He cliams to be calling from virginia. I have called the state attorney general office, and unfortune that ther is very little they can do since these type of calls comes from a foreign country. Best advise do not give any information, and hang up on them
He said his name was Mike and he sounded like he was from India or thereabouts. Said he'd gotten an automatic message that our computer is running slow. I asked him his information and he gave me the return phone number of 888-666-2201. I asked him if he knew that there was a possibility that I was recording him and reporting him to the BBB and the local police. He said his company has an excellent rating with the BBB. I said, "Forget about my computer!" and hung up on him. He then called me back AT LEAST 6 times in a row, one right after the other. I consider that harassment.
Called said we had computer problems. He insisted he represented Microsoft out of Thor Ia. Told him we had a protection plan about
and didn't believe him.. and if a "real" national company why calling from an Iowa area code... No good answer and told him he was a Scam! He finally hung up.
