Right on Sir Belvedere: Only scammers and crooks will call "Do not call numbers". If you don't recognise the ID number, then do not answer the call. I am on "Do not call list", but I am also on my own "Do not answer". Good policy to follow....!!!!
No the Do Not Call List is not a joke. It effectively stops the 25 Million or so legitimate businesses in the U.S. from telemarketing.
If you expect it to stop criminal scammers you're delusional: I invite you to stop locking your doors when you leave the house because, you know, those laws against breaking and entry will surely stop burglars, right?
I've received about 500 final notices but they keep calling back. I try and discontinue calls but since I am at a business line the outgoing call is the the same as the # they use to dial in...
