Right on Sir Belvedere: Only scammers and crooks will call "Do not call numbers". If you don't recognise the ID number, then do not answer the call. I am on "Do not call list", but I am also on my own "Do not answer". Good policy to follow....!!!!

You can't make the calls stop, but I can tell you this. The more you answer, the more they will call. If you ask them to stop calling because you are on the DNL, this will increase the calls even more. When I used to talk to them, they would call 4-5 times a day. Then I read these various forums where it said not to answer the calls. So I stopped answering and sure enough the calls decreased to once a day. Sometimes every other day. That's still too often but it's better than 4-5 times. Try it and see if it helps you.
I usually just answer with a movie soundboard ready to mess with them. The Arnold Schwarzenegger one that has plenty of things to say to them. If you can't beat them, enjoy pissing them off. Here is a link to the soundboards.
