This is Nationwide Credit looking to collect a bad debt. They work for Lowes and other companies. All the calls come from India and they will harrass you day and night including people at your office.
Foreign lady calls at 9:00am on Saturday morning. She asks me if she is talking to my name and gives me the last 4 of my social. I asked her who she was and she wouldn't say she just repeated her question and then asked if I was receiving mail at a certain address. I told her I wasn't telling her anything because she would not identify who she was or why she was calling. I hung up the phone. When I tried to call the number back it just rang and rang. Nobody ever answered. Seriously gives you a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach that someone you don't know has your personal information!
A lady with a thick indian accent called my work number, I do have a debt with AMEX and I use to receive collection calls from Vantage (Advantage?) Global, (must have passed it to this company now). The lady said she's with Nationwide Credit, she knew my name and said my address and wanted me to confirm it, I asked her what this was about and who they were she said she couldn't tell me until she confirmed who she was speaking with, so I told her not to call me again if she can't tell me why they're calling first. Now they tried calling my cell phone, I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.
They call me every so often always in the morning, twice in a row and they don't leave a message. Ever since Verizon Wireless recycled my phone number from someone else, I have been getting many calls from weird numbers looking for some lady so I am assuming it's another collectors agency of some sort looking for this lady. I might just change my number again!
I've been getting calls form this number on my cell phone for about 2 weeks. As I answer it, they hang up. I call back and there is no answer. Today however, I spoke with a gentleman of a thick Indian accent and asks to speak to my x-husbands first name, I told him he had the wrong number. He wanted my name and of course wouldn't give it. I repeated who are you trying to reach, he revealed my x's full name. I said I didn't understand how he got my number in relation to him (divorced dec.06, changed name, state and phone number) He asked for me to contact him with a call back number, I asked him what it was in reference to that I wasn't comfortable with the call, he said it was personal business. I told him I was unable to do that. He hung up.
