I came home from work and had a message from this woman stating that I had to call this number and gave me this phone number to call back on. something about being a state and legal problem and I had to use this case number she gave me. Then she said I had to call back before they started legal action. My boss told me if if was legal action, they would contact me by mail and not leave a message on the phone. Apparently this is a scam, so i just didn't call it back. She didn't give a company or even an lawyers name. if it was a legal situation, they would of at least given the name of the lawyer or attorneys office name.
Total scam. Shelby county is located in either Tennessee or Alabama. These scammers are located in New York. How they devil could they file a fraud case in a state a thousand or more miles away? Fraud cases would be filed by a local public prosecutor. What would a New York debt scammer have to do with a public prosecutor in another state? Nothing. No one can file "charges" against a SSN. SSNs do not commit crimes. But apparently the scammers think that they can or think that can convince someone that they can. This JoAnne Smith has been doing this sort of phony fraud cold-calling for some years.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

OSC LLC is back with a new number as of today...855-229-6659. They asked for my son and advised he does not reside here and would not pass along any message. I was then threatened with legal action against not only him, but myself and told to lock up my dogs so the officer could serve papers. They messed up, I am a retired law enforcement officer.
I received a phone call awhile back from this same number 716-242-5202. Saying that I could be taken to court and sued etc. etc.blah blah blah by "their client" if I didn't resolve or pay the debt back immediately. I didn't believe a word of what they were saying, just hung up the telephone and assumed it was some type of scare tactic or scam. Come to find out!! Now here I am almost a year later I attempted to finalize paper work to purchase my new home, and my bank told me now after months of going through this application that it will NOT go through b/c there is a "new civil judgement" that was recently filed against me. I looked into it further and found out it was from this same debt I ignored months ago!! Cannot believe this I am in shock! I should have just paid the debt back then.. I knew I took it out I just didn't have the money.
These people may seem rude/iffy but they're real & legit! It happened to me it can happen to anyone
If these people are "real & legit" why do you so carefully avoid mentioning their name?
Is it perhaps because they're NOT real and legit... and you are one of them and you're worried about law enforcement tracking you down?
Tell us the name and address of this "real & legit" outfit. It's on the court documents you <snork!> received.
