I was on hold on another call when this # clicked in on call waiting. All it said was New York. I didn't pick it up, but did a search because I thought it might be a business call. This is how I found this site. I am wondering what connection this has with Key Bank. Did Key Bank have information stolen that this person is using?
"Key Bank" wanted to speak to my son about his student loan. We pay it well in advance and I check that the money is being deposed into the account every month. So, I asked not to call again and hung up. Will see if they call.
A man called and said he was from "Key Bank." My caller ID showed the number calling from New York, but it didn't say Key Bank. He asked me if Mike Suehiro was home, and I told him that he was unavailable at this time. He asked if there was a better time to call. I told him that I wasn't sure and asked if there was a problem with the account. He said, "No, there's no problem with the account. We just call in to our customers to see how their accounts are doing and see if we can help them with anything." I told him that I was on the account and he asked me what my name was. I said, "Connie." He said, "Hm, okay, just a minute. Oh, oh, okay, this takes a little bit of time. Now I see your name on the account. So, how is your business doing?" I said, "What business?" And he said, "Oh, it says here on your account 'DBA Mike Suehiro,' so we're just seeing how your business is doing." I don't have a business account with them, but if they don't know that, I decided I wasn't going to tell him, and I said to him, "Well, I'm not at liberty to discuss that over the phone right now." And he said, "Okay, I understand, I understand. Well, you have a nice day..." or something like that. He was obviously not professional and obviously had no script like a Key Bank telemarketer would. I was glad to get off the phone. He was nice, but it was weird talking to him.
The above has placed a call twice to my phone. It states unknow name. I am on the do not call list. Did the same last evening. I do not appreciate being harrassed.
The call came today. Caller ID said "Key, Bank of N Y". We did not answer. However, Keybank was previously the holder of a student loan of mine, which has always been paid against regularly. A year or two ago the account was sold(?) to ACS. I don't know if they are connected. As far as I'm concerned, they have no reason to be calling me. I'm happier with ACS, anyhow, and here's why:
Keybank's statements were irregular and lacked vital information. Two important pieces of information that were difficult to ascertain were my current balance and interest rate. It turned out the monthly payment they had for me was geared to take almost forever to pay the loan off. With ACS I have been making significantly higher payments than the minimum, since their honest (and regular) statements indicate not only the rate of interest (pretty high, up around 10%), but also what the current balance is.
I do not recommend Keybank! And getting the call wasn't appreciated either.
The call came today, however, my fax machine answered. The caller-id showed Buffalo, NY. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST. I do have a Key Bank loan for my boat.
