Have received calls from this number on several occasion say that they are with Windows. THIS IS A SCAM. They try to gain remote access of your computer to hack your information. They tell you that they are getting error reports from your computer and need remote access to fix it. DON'T DO IT. Windows is a Microsoft product and; after a chat with Microsoft corporate; understand they Microsoft will NEVER INITIATE contact with you unless you specifically request contact. BLOCK THIS NUMBER! Also they have called back within minutes with a call that has no caller ID. It's the same demons.
got call today to an old cell number from a different area code where I live now. The computer that had that number crashed last year due to these hackers. SCAM.
Caller said was from microsoft. No name provided. I joked and said, oh, you want to get into my computer? The caller with a heavy Indian accent said that he was calling about error messages I was getting on my machine. I wasn't getting errors. Because I am a retired s/w engineer and am still certified in computer security through COMPTia, I recognized instantly that the caller was not from microsoft because no identity verification was attempted. This was a social engineering attack. I then told the caller to **** off and put me on your do not call list.
