i received this same kind of call today at my home (new jersey.. Luckily we were not at home & it go to voice mail. When I searched this number on the web, I got this link. Thank goodness, I understand now.Mr.John Smith (calling from Criminal investigation) with heavy indian action.

I got a call from this guy. Asked for my mother, who died 3years ago. Said he was from the criminal divisional and had authority to cancel her citizenship and passport due to tax evasion. I told him she was dead and go ahead and cancel!
What an idiot. Why can't anyone stop this guy? The number must be traceable .
I got a call from this number asking for my mother by name. He said he was with the criminal division and he had authority to cancel her passport and citizenship because of tax evasion. He's obviously praying on immigrants.

I am an attorney and a client got the same call this morning from John Smith at this number. PLEASE do not give this guy your SS# or any identifying information. We are going to do what we can to have the authorities find him/them.
I'm also an attorney. Each time I called on behalf of my client, a different "John Smith" answered. I asked who they are with, i.e. NYPD, FBI, etc. He started cursing at me in hindi (I know this because he told me "I'm cursing at you in hindi right now motherf**er.") Then he hung up the phone. These guys cannot do anything. Do not give them the time of day.
Received same call today from Officer John Smith (my foot). I don't know what these people are up to. I am an educated man and I knew right away this is some sort of scam. Why can't local police do something to stop these morons!
