Sure they will. Why? Because every time you make any payment whatsoever or say or do anything to acknowledge the debt, the statute of limitations on suing for the debt gets restarted. Unless you have an intention of paying off the debt in the short run, do not make any payment and say nothing that could be interpreted as your agreement that the debt exists.
I get calls about 8 times a day from Comenity and so have emailed them to cease these calls since they are jeopardizing my job so what do they do? They call me while reading the lesson at church. I am no longer using this card that has absolutely no balance. I owe no one so I will get rid of any card that has Comenity relationship and will no longer ever shop at Victoria Secret, Abercrombie & Fitch or any other company they represent and maybe if all of you start to boycott these companies and it begins to hurt their pocketbook then just maybe these lowlifes will no longer have a job. If any of the companies they represent had half a brain they would dump this garbage company. Comenity lies about responding to your requests as I have emailed them once and texted them once to stop and they say they will respond in 48 hours but to date no response has been received from this lower than pond scum company.
So glad for you that you are lucky enough to have a job to pay your bills and the gentleman with the disability in your office gets all my respect. I also must say that it is sad that all bill collectors get a bad rap, it is a legitimate job and a job that I am sure is in height demand considering all those that do run up bills that they have no intention on paying. But there are also plenty of people out there that have circumstances in their life's that are out of their control and are doing the best they can to keep their heads above water. There are many making bigger sacrifices them just not having internet, so that there kids can eat, or selling everything they can so they can pay their rent. The choice to make a credit card payment or pay your rent, really isn't a choice at all. God save you from ever being in such a position. Watching your savings disappear, selling off your possessions, watching your credit score go down the drain and worry about where you will get the money for prescriptions that allow you to function every day is NOT a fun existence. So do not be so quick to judge those who owe and just because we do owe, it does not give you the right to harass, threaten, be rude, or judge us because the majority of us would pay if we could.
They call CONSTANTLY -- only comes up as "Colorodo" -- I don't know anyone in Colorodo, I don't have any business there nor do I have any credit cards from there - if they are a bill collector they are calling the WRONG PERSON -- all my cards are current and have very low balances. There ought to be a law against these nuisance calls! What kind of person does this for a "living"?? Are you really that hard up for a job? Or do you just enjoy harrassing people? Sometimes, I get a junk call voice message and all it is, is a loud BEEP -- like a fax machine or dial-up computer sound. REALLY people?? Get a life -- and get out of mine! I do not owe you any money, so STOP CALLING ME!
They have already been in trouble once for this harassment in a class action. Who is with me on suing them for their day and night calls that are unwanted? [email protected]
We have rights as consumers and they are grossly violating them.
