Sure they will. Why? Because every time you make any payment whatsoever or say or do anything to acknowledge the debt, the statute of limitations on suing for the debt gets restarted. Unless you have an intention of paying off the debt in the short run, do not make any payment and say nothing that could be interpreted as your agreement that the debt exists.
Why don't you try keeping your dumb-a*s opinion to yourself. I've paid tens of thousands in taxes and had a AAA credit score before my late wife was diagnosed with brain cancer. I won't go into details but now I'm broke and under-employed. $1/mo.? Really? I can use that $1/mo. to help put food on my table for me and my kids. Show an attempt to take care of my responsibility? To who, those bloodsuckers? Where were the creditors and the banks when I begged them for help and extensions on my mortgage before they foreclosed my home? My one and only responsibility is to my kids. Hey "a collector myself", you are one of those bloodsucking maggots and you will rot in h*ll!
You know-If you didn't owe money-Then the debt collectors would not be calling you. You think it's "cool" or you "win" because you are on SSI? It is people like you who are ruining our society. You use our tax payers dollars for your SSi, WelFare, Medical, Food Stamps, then don't pay your bills, then complain that a debt collector is calling you because you haven't paid your bills. What a piece of trash you are. Thanks-you are sending our society straight to hell.
Encountered same problem. I now write down in a log all the different variety of numbers they use. I never answer these calls. And if I forget and accidentally answer I never acknowledge whether they have my name right. They usually always ask for me but I never acknowledge who I am.
