Respectfully submitted, you're wrong.  You can only use those features if you pay for that specific package.  Many don't.  I don't.  Besides, it's so much easier and cheaper to simply use call screening on the answering machine together with caller ID, and not pick up dubious calls.  The more you block, the harder the scammers will try, and the more inventive they become.  The best idea, still, is to not answer.  That deescalates the situation on the spot.  It means you're controlling their behavior, not them, yours.

The problem with that is that the government tends to not hire the very best or brightest for things like this, while the private sector (scammers) does.  The FTC did tell me last year that if I was only willing to wait a few months, they were working on a program so that no robocalls would be able to get through ever again.  I laughed...  By the time they install that program, if they do at all, these scammers will be light-years ahead of them yet again.  If you want to report to DNC, by all means, do.  But those minutes you say you are spending to report start to add up, if you've pissed the scammer off and he escalates with tons of daily calls.  It starts to get tedious, and you could be cooking dinner or reading or watching TV or gardeninginstewd...  Better to just learn how to protect you and yours, in my humble opinion.  Screen and ignore, while you're dreaming the ideal of being rescued by a calloused, overworked government agency.

The card service scammers   WILL   'service' our credit cards,   BUT,   when they finish 'servicing' them, they will have NO available credit remaining! People that are fooled into having their cards 'serviced' will be charged a MINIMUM of $795.00, and many times the ENTIRE amount remaining on the card. The card service scammers are a disgusting group of degenerates, who prey mainly on the low income, and the elderly, but will cheat anyone that they can!

I agree with everything you said.  I was receiving these types of calls for a long time and finally last summer I turned off my answering machine and now I only answer the phone when the caller I D shows a number I recognize.  The calls still come but not as often.  The do not call list is a total joke!

I stopped answering numbers I don't recognize last year, let the machine get it, and they hung up right away, so they are listening for a human voice, why they keep calling everyday is the mystery, are they that brain dead ,to keep calling a number that never answers them, apparently so.

i say let them remote into a pile of dog crap, and they usually hang up or argue with me about it when I tell them how they work their scam, look at a windows error log , every windows pc will have a list here if you ever got updates or installed software, or even used your computer, then using a dos cmd window do a lst type command and a bunch of file names will scroll by, it is just listing them ,it doesn't scan anything doing this, ans they type 5556 infected files found in their terminal window they abort the command and you will see the sentence they typed 5556 files infected , a bunch of crap ,same people doing the credit card lower your interest scam, then they encrypt your hard drive and want anywhere from $200 to $500 or more dollars to give you the password to unencrypt, time for somebody to lock these a-holes up forever.
