I googled that company name and I think you should do the same and make up your mind. VERY mixed reviews. I would be very careful You SSN is not strictly needed at this point in a job offer by phone call. That bothers me a lot.
Git a call today from this company. The person barely spoke english. Asked if I was looking for employment, when I told her that I was not, she hung up up without so much as a thank you, sorry for bothering you, or do you know of anyone who is looking.
If this is 22nd Century Technologies (as it surely seems to be), they are "a SBA certified 8(A) Small Disadvantage Business with innovative approach to provide IT consulting services to Federal, State and Local government agencies." Yes, that was copied and pasted directly from the web site (http://www.tscti.com)... grammatical errors and all.
As of October 14, 2011, the web site lists ONE position available - Sr. Software Engineer, in Somerset, NJ - with only a snail-mail address (no email address, no "apply for this position" link or form). Although they list offices in 33 different states, all of them have the same 866-537-9191 phone number, except Iowa and Hawaii, which have no phone listed at all.
They claim to have been in business since 1997. Better Business Bureau does NOT have a file on them.
This company is very shady. The do not speak very good english and do not have correct grammer that is used in converstaion. They call to submit me for a job with Bank of America for a cash payment poster, but when I got the email, it was for a collection person with a totally different job discription. When I tried to go on their website ,www.tscti.com, the link took me to a software company , NOT a staffing agency. Be aware that they could be trying to steal your identity.
Yes, I agree with you. They are trying to steal information for people. Please do not give them anything! Bank of America would not be offering you a job from India. I know the number they are calling from is a US number, but that doesn't mean the operator lives here. Beware! SCAM!!!
