I received a phone call from Melvin Brooks (908-765-0005), who asked if I was interested in an analyst position with UPS in San Marcos, CA. He spoke with an Indian accent and was very difficult to understand. When he asked me what my salary requirements were, I turned the table to get a salary range from him - he first told me $20 to $25 per hour then later said the salary was $27 per hour. I thought that to be odd. Then he asked me for my DOB and SSN. Now all my senses were on alert. Of course I refused. He asked if I would send my DOB/SSN via email and I agreed (just to get his email). His email wording is "off" - not very professional, grammatical errors, etc. His email address is also differenct from the email address listed on 22nd Century Staffing's web site. Odd. Also, I check with UPS and they are not advertising an analyst job in San Marcos. Something is not quite right with this entire 22nd Century pitch. Think I'll talk to the FBI about it.

Got a call from them, then bunch of e-mails. Same story as above, a "recruiter" with heavy Indian accent. Claimed they submitted my resume to a company, later I found out they did not. I feel so stupid, sending them my resume. Century 22 - shady company, shady business.

I got a call from 22nd Century Inc. for possible job. All of their recruiters spoke heavy India English accents, so I barely understood their English. I wonder why they have America full name in their email but they cannot speak American English in our United States? They never use the phrase: "On behalf ....". I would never give any personal information such SSN, DOB, etc... until working with direct client for job opportunity. Be aware the fraud identity theft on the internet.

Got three successive phone calls from these folks (short--I wasn't somewhere that I could talk so I hit the volume button to turn off the ringer and no sooner had I did it they called again).  Finally I turned off the phone. Later I get an e-mail from Sandra and a text from James S. asking me if I'd be interested in the same job.  In this case it was a contract job that I've seen a couple of times and there are a number of sub-contractors who are trying to supply bodies for it.  I wasn't interested so I just ignored it.  He calls and I tell him I'm not interested (because regardless of the delivery, I wasn't).

So the interesting part:
- The number they called me from, the number the text came from, the number in the text message they asked me to call, and the number in the e-mailings were all different area codes.

Not sure what the heck is going on, but there's enough things that are a little out whack.  No need to run, but I would walk away from this one.
