A police society call to the best of my knowledge, but with a different twist. This one sounded like a real person, but when I said I had just been in the hospital it replied, "Glad to hear the good news. I'm pleased to hear it!!!" It appears they've got new software, but it doesn't seem to be working so well. I hung up as I can't stand all of these people calling up begging for money through my credit card which nobody should ever give out over the phone unless you initiate the call and you know exactly who you are speaking to.
Called and told my kid that he was the police and wanted to know if his parents were home. My kid hung up on him. And came and got me I called the number right back and just got a recording. Very scary.

These telemarketers who call representing "police benevolence" funds are not organizations that help law enforcement. Our son is retired from 30 years of law enforcement in north west Florida and he says these telemarketers pocket most of the money they collect. And I, too, wondered why call is coming from Mass. to collect for Florida law enforcement. I answered a couple of these calls, not knowing who it was, and when they find out you have a family member in law enforcement, they know the "gigs up". I just told him that we support our local police dept. and NEVER make any contribution by phone. Thanked him and hung up.
You may see calls with CNAM "A,F, O, or K INCOMING CALL." Try to find some business info on Outreach Calling other than their virtual office location Reno Nevada. If you ask any of their reps where they're located, they don't even know what state they're in, now that's a professional business model, isn't it?
