Male caller asked if he could pay by credit card. Since there was some odd background noise, I asked him what company he was with. Said Discovery Research Group and then wanted to speak with a manager.
So, I told him to sod off and blocked the number.
I would believe this number to be spoofed.
Picked up the call and a woman asked for my husband by his first name, middle initial, and last name. The caller ID said it was coming from Pleasant Grove, UT. I asked "for what purpose" did she need to talk to my husband and she said "for a survey about his medical services". I asked "which Dr.?" and she stumbled around trying to say " I can only talk about that with the patient", which I understand since I'm a medical billing manager for 20 doctors. But we went through this same scenairo with the calls a couple of years ago and when I questioned our CEO if our medical group had hired a company to do this, she said "NO! It's a scam". So today I told this caller that I work for doctors, including his personal doctor; that I know what doctors he's been to recently and I know for a fact that they don't use a survey service over the phone and hung up on her.
He also has Anthem Blue Cross insurance and their client database was recently hacked, so for all I know she has his info from a list from the hacking...
Same as above. Called at 8:30 at night asking to speak to a member of the family claiming it was a medical call clearly it wasn't as none of our doctors are from that area code
Third telephone surveyor this evening, second to admit to having a survey on the same subject.
Male voice, noisy background. Claimed to be calling from "Discovery Research Group" and protested when I asked them not to call again. Had a survey about candidates in the Salt Lake City mayoral election. Claimed it was not paid for by any client.
