Foreigner called wanting to talk about my windows computer. Haven't used windows since I was 10. Knew it was a scam call and hung up, blocked number and reported to FTC. DONT ANSWER! SCAM CALL!
Someone has called me from this number four times saying they are from microsoft and need to fix my computer as it is going to crash. Would not give their name and no more details of the problem. He just needed access to my computer to fix the problem.
Called me saying he received a crash report and my computer had trouble. Had a thick Indian accent and sounded like he was in a busy call center. They must have a whole room full of these jokers trying to con people. I played along and acted incredibly dumb as he asked me questions and directed me to make changes to my computer. I told him that I was following his instructions but of course did nothing. Eventually he became angry and wanted to know why I was wasting his time. Told him because he was wasting mine and that may save other people a few phone calls and hung up. Would love to see some sweet justice served to these scam artists, can't believe they get away with it in this day and age.
He called yesterday and said he was from Microsoft. Said his name was John Thomas. Most likely fake name. I could barely understand him. Think it was an Indian accent. Something about security. I knew it was a scam and told him not to call me anymore or i would report him and hung up on him. He unbelievably called back 3 more times in a row arguing with me. Now I'm worried. Can these guys hack into my phone or something like that?
I got a call from a gentlemen claiming to be with windows. First off his reception was horrible so I don't even think it was a real 800 numbers, not to mention he had a very heavy accent so he was difficult to understand without the horrible reception. What I could understand was he tried to claim that my computers were sending viruses to them "Microsoft". I stopped, looked at both my computers. They weren't even on. Okay I may not be an 'expert' in the field but to transfer something/anything I'm pretty sure they have to be on. I told him he had a wrong number my computers weren't even on and hung up.
A+ Laugh from a Scammer. Not sure what he thought he could get from me. I have a guy I take my stuff too if I think there's a virus and I can't get it off myself. I think I got lucky because he didn't call back as far as I could tell, I had other things to do than to talk to him.
