They call every once in a while- but are dumb. They will call from a TX number first, and then right away with a KY number.. The crazy thing is my husband works for a credit recovery agency- there is absolutely nothing I owe to anyone, well except Sallie Mae and GM for my car. I'm honestly contemplating changing my number- has anyone ever done that- if so did it work?
Called cell on 05-11-16 at 1714 PDT, no name on caller ID / call from Boone County, Kentucky. Called about 9 hours after I called Portfolio Recovery's main number and told a CSR to have PRA stop calling me.
Now I'm logging the PRA calls. A California attorney I consulted with told me I can obtain $500 in damages per call.
The attorney I spoke to was at Krohn & Moss 323-988-2400 (Los Angeles, California).
Not sure about other states but in Alabama, even for a legitimate debt, it is illegal to do a collection call of any kind on a Sunday. I used to work for a title loan company and they were closed on Sundays for that reason.
